Densholme Community Care Farm Testimonials
Claire Drinnan (on behalf of the reception class staff and children at Thorpepark Academy)
Hi Rachel,

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at the farm for welcoming us and providing us with such a lovely learning experience and day out last Thursday. The day was so well planned with a range of activities which were just the right length of time for our age group.

Thank you very much for your time and effort.

Kind regards,

Claire Drinnan (on behalf of the reception class staff and children at Thorpepark Academy)

Just want to say a great big thank you to yourself, Farmer Dennis, Mary and Chris for giving our children such a wonderful experience at your farm. All our classes have been "buzzing" since they got back and all had a thoroughly fantastic time! They have learnt a tremendous amount about farming through your hands on activities and I hope you will have us back another day!

We will send you some our work about the visit when it is finished.

Many thanks again,

Rosie Fisher

Blue Bell
On behalf of everyone at the Blue Bell Mtg group may I offer a very big thank you for talking to us about your Care Farm enterprise. It was without doubt one of our best meetings and was very much enjoyed by all.
Your enthusiasm and vision is clearly making a big difference to those in the community who are, for whatever reason, not as fortunate as most. I know our Vicar James Anderson was particularly thrilled with your work.

Challenging Dependency
CDP listening to our clients who have achieved a degree of stability or recovery have found that they all have a strong desire to start putting something back into society. CDP has over the last year started to develop a Green Recovery Project in partnership with The Densholme Community Care Farm to help clients address this aspiration.

CDP clients have reported that the key points for them are how it has helped their personal development (self esteem, self confidence and team work) and the fact that they are contributing to a genuine commercial activity enhancing the viability of the farm, broadening the farm business and adding to the community services and amenities that others will then benefit from through their volunteering.

On a personal level they have all been surprised by just how quickly it has changed their thinking. While working on the farm, even on the very first day, a number reported going through the day not thinking about drugs. Once back home they have felt and talked about a natural feeling of being tired, relaxed and generally feeling good about themselves and a continuing lack of desire to use drugs. A general sense of wellbeing having replaced the usual craving for drugs.

CDP congratulates the Care Farm on becoming a social enterprise and look forward to a developing relationship for the benefit of our clients.

The Soil Association
"Densholme Farm is an excellent example of how organic farmers can not only care for the environment and animal welfare, but also for people who can benefit from visiting and helping out with farm activities. I have worked with the team at Densholme for a number of years and have been inspired by their energy and committment in setting up the care farm initiative."

"The children from Maybury had a wonderful time at Densholme farm, and we are eager to continue to develop this link.
I have sent in a feedback form to the country trust regarding the visit; but I can say that the trip was thoroughly worthwhile. The children learnt so much from putting things into practice and they especially loved the chickens!"
