Hi! My name is Rachel and I have always loved the great outdoors, people usually say never work with children and animals but for me this is a perfect match!

Having obtained an honours degree in Zoology I spent 6 years at Cruckley Animal Farm managing the animals and leading school trips from which I gained great fulfilment. Seeing the children connect with nature and experience farming first hand was a pleasure to be a part of.  After the farm closed I was lucky enough to get a job with the RSPB at ‘Bempton Cliffs’ nature reserve and formed part of the welcome and educational team.   When my seasonal contract ended I fell pregnant with my daughter who is now nearly two and have been a full time mummy since then!

I now once again have an amazing opportunity to work with animals and children (and lots of other wonderful people!) and have been given the task of revising the educational offer at the farm. My objective is to obtain a ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ badge which is a nationally recognised symbol of quality in farming education. With this Densholme Farm will have further opportunity to continue expanding its offer to schools.  I have seen all of the great things you have achieved already and I am privileged to be a part of this wonderful team.  I look forward to meeting you all along the way.
